Dr. Ravin is a native North Carolinian raised in the triangle area. After graduating from Durham Academy, he matriculated into Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN for his undergraduate studies and received his baccalaureate degree in 1995. He then went on to receive his medical doctorate from Duke University Medical School in 2000. While in medical school, Dr. Ravin was selected to serve as a medical school representative to the executive admissions committee to select future Duke medical students. Dr. Ravin subsequently completed the prestigious combined training program of General and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. The plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Duke University is regarded as one of the top residency programs in the country. During his residency, Dr. Ravin also spent 6 months at the world-renowned Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY for specialized hand and microsurgery training. Dr. Ravin has also published several articles in some of the most well respected medical journals during his graduate and post-graduate training.
Dr. Ravin is well trained in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery because of his intense training at Duke University Medical Center. Dr Ravin enjoys performing many diverse procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast surgery (breast augmentations, breast reductions, breast lifts (mastopexy) and cancer reconstruction), liposuction and body contouring, weight-loss reconstruction, facelift, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), browlifts and injectables such as Botox and Restalyne. Dr Ravin is also available for MOHS reconstruction (repair of defects from skin cancer), and other reconstructive surgery after trauma and cancer removal.
Dr Ravin established Lake Norman Plastic Surgery to serve the patients of the Mecklenburg, Iredell, Rowan, and Catabwa counties, Lake Norman, greater Charlotte, Cornelius, Huntersville, Davidson, and Mooresville areas.
